This is just the how the Nazis terribly treated the Jews! The boy in the story was getting beat up because he was Jewish. This is exactly what the Nazis would do - just hit Jewish people for no reason. I think it’s dumb that the Jews during the Holocaust would resist doing something the Nazis told them to do, and if a Nazi saw a Jewish person resisting they would kill them or just do something that would hurt them. When a boy that is Jewish is beaten up for resisting to join the Wave, the boy shouldn’t get punished they didn’t do anything wrong just resist in something they don’t believe in doing.
This quote reminds of resistance and persecution of religion. It reminds me of resistance because the boy was beaten up because he was resisting to join the Wave and resistance means to oppose on something that you don’t want to do. He didn’t want to join the Wave he resisted doing it. Resistance happens all the time in school kids resist in doing homework almost every day. The Jews resisted against many things during the Holocaust like wearing the star of david. This also, reminds me of persecution of religion because persecution means to exterminate. During, the Holocaust Hitler persecuted People who were Jewish because he didn’t the religion of Judaism. In The Wave the boy was Jewish and got beaten up. Why do people persecute others because they are different?
