The cruelty of Nazis

¨I can't even believe that all the Nazis were that cruel,¨ Laurie told her teacher. ¨I don't believe anyone could be that cruel.¨ (Laurie, The Wave, pg. 20)

This quote is right after they watched the video of the Holocaust and they were discussing I didn't believe that the Nazis could be that cruel to the Jews and other people. What the Nazis did was inhumane. They committed mass genocide all over Europe and killed 6 million people in death and concentration camps, also in the streets randomly whenever they felt like it. It’s like why would you do that, kill people just because you feel like it? What kind of person would kill people for the fun of it?
Did you know that the Rwandan genocide was also a ¨mass genocidal slaughter.¨ (click) on this link to read more about Rwanda). It was a civil war between the Tutsi and the Hutu which took over in the rebellion of 1959–62. There was between 500,000 and 100,000 people who died in the civil war. Also in Sudan, in the nuba mountains are being bombed to the people which are not letting them crop food or letting them receive food aids. Over 300,000 people killed or affected by the bombing. The Rwandan genocide was like the Holocaust because there was specific groups of people targeted.

  1. It is terrible that so much cruel treatment and killing is still going on in this world. At least more people are standing up for what is right, but their bravery comes at great cost of lives. Great comments. Keep up with the good work.

  2. I know I said the same thing too! And yes it's a good thing that more and more people are standing up for one another.
